Five morning walkers were killed when a sand laden truck overturned in Mahoba early in the morning on Sunday. Those killed were identified as Triloki Singh Sengar (62), Mustafa Khan (64), laxmi Narayan Pathak (62), Sudhanshu Gupta (18) and Sunil Rajput (24) all of Charkhari Kasba under Charkhari police station area. Three other pedestrians suffered serious injuries in the mishap and are admitted to a hospital in the city
According to reports, the victim were on a morning walk and when they reached at Supa crossing they saw a speeding truck laden with sand whizzed past them. Before the victim could sense danger, the truck overturned and all the victims came under the bulky structure of the truck. Other commuters rushed for help but they could not move the truck despite all out efforts. later they informed the police and a police team reached the place to rescue the victims. By the time the truck could be lifted and shifted to another place, five of victims had died. The doctors declared then brought dead when they examined the victims at a hospital after they were brought there. The police had registered a case in this connection and further investigations are on. The truck driver fled the scene sensing danger to his life by the commuters who swarmed the scene on getting to know of the incident.
