Perceiving threat to his family and himself, IPS officer Amitabh Thakur has written to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Government of India) seeking cadre change from UP to any other state.
Quoting extreme threat to life as the reason for Inter-state cadre change under Rule 5(2) of the IPS Cadre Rules, Thakur has said in his representation on Thursday that he and his activist wife Dr Nutan Thakur have threat to their lives from the present SP government and it’s senior leaders.
Thakur claimed that SP leaders had threatened him over phone. He also named Mining minister Gayatri Prajapati against whom Dr Nutan Tkaur had presented a complaint before the lokayukta.
“Other than harassment by misuse of state authority, we also have real life threats. These people are extremely powerful and hence it is necessary to change my cadre from UP,” Thakur wrote.
Earlier Thakur has sought transfer of two Departmental Enquiries being conducted against him to some other state. In his Revision petition presented to Home Secretary, (Government of India) under Rule 24 of All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, Thakur said that the UP government under CM Akhilesh Yadav is acting in a completely partisan manner and hence his enquiries be transferred to another state in the interest of justice.
Presenting a long list of one-sided actions by the SP government, Thakur said that he has lost faith in the state government officials and hence the Central government using its powers, should transfer his Departmental enquiries to some other state. In his letter, Thakur said he shall not be participating in the enquiries till they were not transferred by the Government of India.
Meanwhile Dr Nutal Thakur claimed that the state government had initiated a probe against Vigilance Establishment Director Bhanu Pratap Singh on the complaint made by her.
Dr Thakur had presented a complaint to the CM against Singh for having bought a 540 sq meter plot at 1/13, Vijay Khand in Gomti Nagar in his name, without having intimated the government. She had also charged Singh of illegally occupying about 1000 sq feet land in Ganj-e-Shahidan cemetery in front of his house at Vijay Khand-2 also in Gomti Nagar. Nutan claimed that the CM office directed the DGP office after which IG (Public Grievance) has asked IG (Karmik) for enquiry as per directions of the state government.
