A day after the stormy meeting of party legislators where top Samajwadi party leaders attacked each other , family patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav  said that chief minister  Akhilesh Yadav will decide over the reinduction of the ministers who were sacked on October 23. The party supremo said that the SP is a democratic party and if the party gets the majority  in 2017 elections then the elected MlAs will elect the new leaders  which is the democratic convention practised by all the political parties.  Shivpal along with three other ministers were dismissed by the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on last Sunday.

Evan as the chief minister was missing from the press conference  addressed by the SP supremo here on Tuesday Mulayam Singh said ``the family stands united’ amid a chasm between son Akhilesh and brother Shivpal whose differences threaten to split the party’’.  SP state president Shivpal Yadav, sacked minister Om Prakash Singh and the tainted minister Gyatri Prajapati flanked the SP chief on the dais.

“The media is asking unnecessary and irrelevant questions. The family, party and the cadres all are united and there is no dispute at any level in the party’, said Mulayam Singh.  During the press meet, the SP president skirted most of the questions on the dispute within the family or about Akhilesh, Shivpal and Amar Singh

Replying to volley of questions whether Akhilesh Yadav will be the chief minister face of the party in 2017 assembly elections  Mulayam Singh  said `` I am not going to make any controversial  statement today. The 2012 assembly election was contested in my name ,  parties declare the chief ministers face ahead of the elections but the leader is formally elected by the newly elected MlAs and this is the convention in all the political parties’’. every ``

“Samajwadi Party is a democratic party and we will follow the same process and if the party get the majority in 2017 election then the name of the leader will be proposed in the meeting of the  of the newly elected MlAs and they will elect their leader’’. Asked about the absence of the chief minister from the press conference SP chief said `` Akhilesh Yadav is the chief minister today. has anybody expressed any objection to it’’.

When asked about the reinduction of the four minister sacked on October 23, SP Supremo said `` Ask this question from the chief minister, I have left this matter to the discretion of Akhilesh Yadav do decide on the reinduction of the sacked ministers’’.

Replying to a question on the sacked party leader Ram Gopal Yadav, SP supremo said ``I am not willing even to hear his name please do not ask question about him. I don’t give any importance to any of his statements,”’’.  Mulayam said this when asked for his reaction on the comment by Ram Gopal that he was sacked while `Khota Sikkaa’ like Amar Singh was being protected by SP chief. Ram Gopal Yadav, SP leader in Rajya Sabha was sacked from the party for six years on October 23 after he shot off a nasty letter to Mulayam Singh Yadav.

When asked if he wants to become the CM replacing Akhilesh, Mulayam cracked a joke,” do you want me to become a CM for two months just to distribute the salary to the state employees. The elections would be announced by December and why to become a CM for two months when I have already served as the chief minister for three times CM,”.

Irked by a question over criticism of Amar Singh in the party meeting on Monday, Mulayam Singh defended his saying `` why are you dragging his name now. Some persons with no political support base are conspiring against him.” SP chief however refused to name such persons. Ahead of the press conference each room of the state office of the SP office was searched by the police and all party leaders and cadres were asked to leave the premises of the office. SP chief arrived after the office was cleared of the party men.

Meanwhile, hundreds of over excited supporters of the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav indulged in intense slogan shouting at the state office of the party.  SP had to delay his departure from the party office after addressing the press conference. The supporters of the chief minister also gathered outside his Kalidas marg residence and raised slogan.  Close to CMs residence the supporters of Shivpal Yadav also indulged in slogan shouting in front of his official residence on Kalidas marg. The district administration has deployed the police and the PAC to prevent clash among the rival factions.
