Charging that the state government was fanning communal clashes, Rashtriya lok Dal state president Dr Masood Ahmad said the government was diverting public attention from the pressing issues to hide its incompetence.
Ahmad was reacting to Aligarh district administration’s denial of permission to a delegation of RlD leaders going to Kasganj on a fact finding mission and assess the current situation in the district. He said that the district administration stopped the RlD delegation from moving further at Aligarh itself and later detained them.
The RlD leader claimed that the BJP was engaging in vote polarization and stoking up communal sentiments. “The BJP wants to revive bitter memories related to Muzaffarnagar incident and only difference is that this time the conspiracy is on a larger scale,” he said and demanded a thread bare probe into the Kasganj strife.
Former MlA and RlD leader Dr Anil Chaudhary demanded the arrest of BJP MP Raju Bhaiya claiming that the clash erupted after his fiery speech on the fateful day.
