Exhorting district presidents of the party to spread the message of good work done by Samajwadi Party Government, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that districts will have to play a crucial role in the 2017 assembly elections. “Samajwadi Party has dedicated team of workers. The leadership is very mature which knows the problems of the people. The Government also has carried out massive reforms. The problem is the party is good in implementing policies but is bad in publicizing it,” Yadav told district presidents in a meeting held here on Friday.

He said that a canard is being spread by the opposition parties against the Government. They say law and order is bad. They also claim lack of development activities in the state. But the fact is UP is marching to the path of progress. The district units should take up the responsibility to counter this canard, he said. “The work done by the government in last three years has started showing results. People are now willing to talk about UP. In my recent foreign visits foreign investors have shown their willingness to invest in the state. It is possible only because we have the inclination to perform,” Yadav said.

“You people have to go to the people to dispel misgivings among the masses. Metro rail is coming up in lucknow. All the village panchayats will have cheap houses under lohia Awas Yojana and Akshay patra has been roped in to distribute healthy mid-day meal among the students,” he said and added that what his government has achieved in three years no other government can ever dream of completing in 10 years.

Chief Minister said that party wants to contest next elections on its performance. “We will succeed if we can spread the message of good work done by the government. The onus is now on you to take the message down up to the village level,” he said. Political pension minister Rajendra Chaudhry and State secretary SRS Yadav were present in the meeting.
