With less than two months left for his tenure, Director General of Police (DGP) Rizwan Ahmed, who took command for top police post in the State on last Tuesday, warned his juniors of stern action against their "insensitive" towards common man.
"If any reports of insensitiveness of the cops reached to me from any part of the State, I will not be ignore it and stern action will be taken against the concerned personnel and supervising officer," warned Rizwan Ahmed through his maiden circular dispatched to all the officers concerned particularly dealing with law and order enforcement on Thursday evening. He claimed that action like detaining family members of a criminal in a bid to create pressure to arrest him "should not be made at any cost" otherwise the cops should be get ready to face the music. Ahmed said that the behaviour of police towards commonpeople should be sensitive and hard towards anti-social, goons and professional criminals.
``The cops must act softly towards common man but when it come to dealing with criminals, gangsters and anti-social elements, though stand should be maintained so no one dare to raise head against the poor and down-trodden section of the society. "In case of law and order particularly involving poor and hapless, the behaviour of cops should not be just decent but appropriate action should be also taken forward immediate relief," directed DGP to his sub-ordinates.
Ahmed asked all the district police chief and other senior officers to hold meetings and seminars to make the cops aware that how they should deal the day to day activities with full `sensitivity’ and `honesty’.
