Demanding a CBI prove into the gruesome mother-daughter gang rape on National Highway-91 in Bulandshahr, the BJP submitted a memorandum with Governor Ram Naik and demanded action against a cabinet minister for terming the horrific crime as a ‘political conspiracy’.

led by state chief Keshav Prasad Maurya, the BJP delegation said that the Governor has assured them about personally speaking to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav over the issue.

later talking to the media, Maurya said that Bua (aunt) and Bhatija (nephew) were responsible for the rot which has set in in Uttar Pradesh.

“Under pressure from his ‘Bua’, Akhilesh is not arresting BSP leader Nasimuddin Siddiqui despite a case being filed against him. Police arrests a common man against whom a case is filed but in case of Siddiqui, the police and administration is not taking any action,” he said.

Earlier in the day, BJP workers staged a massive protest across the state demanding a CBI probe into the rape of mother and daughter. In lucknow, the protest was held at Collectorate. Addressing party workers, Mayor Dinesh Sharma said that the Bulandshahr incident was a reflection of ‘jungle raj’ in UP and was a blot on the face of civilized society.

“The agony is that instead of taking action against the guilty, this government is trying to give a political colour to this incident. The statement of a cabinet minister in this regard was shameful,” Dr Sharma said.

In PM Narendra Modi’s constituency in Varanasi, BJP workers led by state general secretary  Vijay Bahadur Pathak held protests and handed over a memorandum to the District Magistrate. The demonstration was held under the slogan of ‘’Behin beti ke samman me,  BJP maidan me’.

later talking to reporters, Pathak said that a CBI probe was necessary in the Bulandshahr case after UP minister Azam Khan claimed political conspiracy behind the incident. “Besides, the contradictory statements by the DGP and the IG needs to be probed,” he said.

“The recent statement of Chief Secretary warning officials to work for development proves that all development works have stalled in the state. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was just making false claims on development to confuse the people,” he alleged.
