National Secretary General of Communist Party of India (M-l) Deepankar Bhattacharya said that Yogi Adityanath elevation as Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh is travesty to the democracy. He was addressing a gathering at the laxman Mela Ground in lucknow on Thursday.

“Yogi is facing a number of crime cases but the BJP chose to appoint him as CM of UP. Under this condition, the cases against him are unlikely to reach to any conclusion,” he said. Bhattacharya said Modi led central government imposed demonetization on the people of the country while Yogi led state government impose meat ban on the people of the state.

The CPI (Ml) leader hit out at Saharanpur incident saying the dalits had to stage dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to bring their plight in the know of the central government. “The attack on the dalits in Saharanpur reminds one of aristocratic age when the Dalit were being punished by people of upper caste. Farmers were killed in Madhay Pradesh for voicing their concern. Is this BJP promised while contesting the election,” he said. He alleged that the Yogi government is not only aristocratic but also communal.

The CPI Ml leader said the central government was implementing GST and was propagating about one tax one nation policy. “Why then the policy can not be implemented in waiving of loans of farmers,” he questioned.

The leader also hit out at Central government’s dilly dally approach in Vijay Mallya’s case and said Mallya had safely ensconced in london. He justified the farmers’ demand to waive of loans they took from different money lenders. He criticized the Modi government for not fulfilling its poll promises as yet.

The CPI Ml leader also hit out at Bahujan Samaj Party saying the party had lost its potential and had strayed from it agenda. “The dalits of Saharanpur had to fight themselves for their right. “The RSS and BJP are trying to divide the society for their political mileage and the left parties should fight for the people of down trodden class, workers, unemployed, labourers and dalits,” he called upon the workers and the leaders.

He also demanded the state government to release Bhim Army leader Chandra Shekhar and the lucknow University students who showed black flags to CM Yogi. “The students were protesting the state government policy and it is their right so they did not wrong. But they were jailed and were terminated from the University,” he said. He also demanded to implement the Swaminathan Commission Report on agriculture to address the farmers’ woes.
