Crime against fairer sex remained unabated with one more minor girl killed after being sexually assaulted in lakhimpur Kheri, another one found dead in Saharanpur, while four more girls were raped in separate parts of the state.
In lakhimpur Kheri, the body of a missing 12-year-old girl was recovered from a sugarcane field in a semi-nude condition under the n Nighasan police station on Thursday morning. The girl, hailing from Raipur area, went to cut grass in the near-by fields on Wednesday evening but went missing. Her family members lodged a case in this regard after which a hunt was launched but the body of the victim was only recovered on Thursday morning, lying in the sugarcane fields.
Superintendent of Police, Arvind Sen Yadav said the girl died due to strangulation. “The dead body has been sent for postmortem examination by a panel of four doctors and the entire proceeding will be video graphed,” he said. The victim’s clothes were recovered at some distance from the body, which prima facie indicate murder after rape, he said. “But it is only after postmortem that rape can be ascertained,” he added. Citing statements of the girl’s family, Yadav said a case of family feud has also come to light and we will probe this angle also. The SP said appropriate action will be taken after
the postmortem.
In Saharanpur, body of an unknown woman, was found lying in the fields of one Sudhir at Kishenpura hamlet of Bada Gaon on Thursday morning.The body was mutilated and it seems that she was killed somewhere else and later her body was dumped at the spot. local police which sent the body for autopsy, did not ruled out possibility of women being raped before murder. Further investigations are on in the matter. Meanwhile a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in Khairabad area of Sitapur. The girl had gone outside the village on Wednesday evening to graze her cattle when a local youth identified as Sadaura, who had followed the victim and, raped her in a secluded place. When the girl did not return, police and locals launched a hunt for her. She was found lying in unconscious state on Thursday morning following which a case was registered. However, the accused was yet to be arrested.
In Gautambudhnagar, a 14-year-old girl hailing from Maicha locality of Dadri, alleged that one Anil, posted as constable in Bulundshahr, had nabbed her on July 30 last and raped her. The local Dadri police initially not registered the case but when the probe pointed that Anil had taken leave on the fateful day and was present at the spot, a case of rape was registered against him on Thursday morning. Further investigations are on but the constable was not arrested so far. In a separate case reported from Barabanki, one Mukesh Kumar Yadav, a resident of Ramnagar area, had nabbed 13-year-old daughter of his neighbour when she came out to attend call of nature on Tuesday evening and had raped her. He also threatened to kill her if she would
reveal the incident to anyone. However, the girl reveal her trauma after which a case has been registered by her mother on Wednesday. In one more case reported from Unnao, a 13-year-old girl hailing from Bhattan Khera hamlet of Fatehpur Chaurasi, was gang raped by Ram Sewak and Ram Pyre, both residents of the same area few months back. The accused threatened her with dire consequences so she not revealed the incident to anyone.
However, on Wednesday, when she fell ill and the family members took her hospital, the girl revealed the incident after which a case has been registered.
