Preventing a Rastriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) leader from entering a temple with his shoes on, led to a clash between cops and local RSS and BJP leaders in Agra on Friday morning. The Sangh and BJP leaders pelted stones and damaged the house of a sub-inspector posted in Government Railway Police besides opening fire.

Interestingly, when the local police reached the spot, the Saffron leaders also attacked them but later under pressure, Agra Police registered cross cases and did not arrest anyone. ASP of Hariparwat, Anurag Vats after visiting the spot said that a probe was on in the matter.

As per reports, RSS worker Arvind Chauhan in Agra visited a temple in Roshanbagh area of Dayalbagh locality for darshan on Friday morning. While he was entering the temple complex without taking off his shoes, sub-inspector Mukesh Gautam posted in local GRP, objected and asked him to take off the shoes.

This trivia led to a trade of expletives between the two. later Chauhan was joined by other RSS colleagues along with local BJP leaders, who attacked Gautam who fled the scene. The angry mob chased the cop to his house adjacent to the temple and rained stones damaging the windows. The irate group also allegedly opened fire.

As Gautam called the local police for help, the saffron leaders did not spare them too. later some senior officers reached the scene and defused the situation.

While Gautam submitted a complaint against the RSS and BJP leaders, the latter too lodged a complaint charging the cop of unnecessarily creating disturbance in the temple.

The RSS workers also alleged that Gautam pelted stones at his house and damaged window panes with the intention of framing them in the case. Further investigations are on in the matter.

Meanwhile incidents against members of fairer sex have once again peaked. In Shahjahanpur, a half-burnt body of a teenage girl, who was allegedly killed by her father, was recovered in Bhilawan village of Pulawayan area on Fridaymorning. Manager of a local inter college, Manoj Yadav  allegedly killed his daughter and also performed the last rites in a bid to get rid of the body. Acting on a conplaint by the perpetrator’s wife, the police recovered the body from the college campus in the wee hours of Friday.

The police said that Manoj’s wife was staying with her parents after she got to know of her husband’s extra-marital affair with a female teacher of the college. His daughter too objected to his link-up which infuriated Manoj. The accused was arrested by the police and efforts were on to nab the other family members who connived with Manoj in the crime.

In another case reported from Muzaffarnagar, a 16-year-old girl attempted suicide after being raped by two youths in Kotwali area on Thursday evening. The girl was accosted by two youths while she was returning home. The duo took her to an isolated place and raped her. The girl’s cries were heard by some locals who thrashed the youths and called the police after which the accused were arrested and sent to jail.

The girl was taken to a local hospital after the incident. After being discharged from the hospital, the victim consumed poison at her home and was again rushed to a hospital where her condition is stated to be critical.

Meanwhile in Hapur, Rakhi (22) of Mohalla Chamuri under Kotwali Hapur, went out for a morning stroll with her younger sister Roshni early Friday morning. While they were returning, three unidentified miscreants reached on car and forcibly bundled Rakhi into the car and sped away. Her sister Roshni, raised alarm but no one responded. later she rushed home and informed the parents after which a case was lodged with the local police against unknown persons. Efforts were underway to track down the kidnappers and rescue the girl.
