Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadavs said that Samajwadi Party Government has speeded up development in Uttar Pradesh by constructing bridges and roads across state so as to improve connectivity.
He was speaking in a function while inaugurating a bridge constructed over river Ganga at Sakaldiha-Saidpur road in Ghazipur.
“The roads are important parameter of development. It not only reduces the commutation time but also speeds up transportation of good. Good roads mean you double the speed of economic development of that area. WE have built Agra-lucknow Expressway in record time and this is an example for other states because we built it from our own resources,” Yadav said here on Tuesday. He said this bridge over river Ganga will reduce distance between Varanasi and Chandauli which in turn help in unclogging of traffic in Varanasi. “The state government has initiated many projects to complete incomplete bridges. There are many bridges whose foundation stone was laid around 20 years back but were not completed. This not only increases the cost of production but also hampers the development of the region,” Chief Ministers said. He asked officers to complete unfinished projects. If need be technical changes should be made in roads or bridges so that the projects are completed in time. “The Bridge Corporation has made its name in bridge building across India it should ensure that its flag should fly high all the time,” he said.
