State Congress would soon came in active mode as a decision of coming to street to expose the wrong doing of both the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) government in the Centre and Samajwadi Party (SP) government in the state has been taken on directions of the Party high command. “There are bunch of burning issues which should be raise by us so we decided to launch series of agitations against both the governments, for which a strategy is being formulated,” disclosed State Congress president Nirmal Khatri here.

“We will start the agitation soon after drawing a strategy in this regard by mid of February,” he announced. Talking to reporters here soon after meeting of Party core group comprising of about 40 senior leaders,  Khatri said Congress would soon turn into an agitational mode on several issues, prominent being the amendment in the land Acquisition Act done by Central

government. The decision was taken during a meeting of senior party leaders here, chaired by AICC General Secretary Madhusudan Mistri.   Around 36 senior leaders of the party, including Rashid Alvi, Sriprakash Jaiswal, Sanjay Singh, Pradeep jain Aditya, Pl Punia, Mohisina Kidwai, etc participated in the meet. The meet also decided to send these senior leaders to the districts to get feedback from the ground level, as per the direction of party president Sonia Gandhi.

“Each leader would be given one or two districts of their choice and they will be asked to give their report on the feedback by first week of February,” Khatri said. Ms Gandhi has asked the state Congress committee to get a feedback from the ground level about the ideologies, strategies and other issues, so that party could include them before drawing future course of action for revival of the Party.

Meanwhile, a Congress senior woman activist, staged a protest just outside meeting hall at State Congress head-quarter as she was not happy with the announcement of recent Committee of the Pradesh Congress. RsRsI remained as secretary of Women’s Wing in the All India Congress Committee but to my surprise, senior leaders had overlooked seniority as well as hard-work of many women leaders and had included those who had done nothing for the Party but just had blessings of some senior leaders”, alleged the activist while disclosing her identity as Shabnam Khandelwal.

Interestingly, she tried to tell her woes before Khatri just outside meeting hall but state president, asked her to come at his office and register her grievance as it was Party related matter and could not be discussed publically. It may be mentioned that some other senior leaders were also agitated over the Committee and had resigned for not getting posts as per their seniority or hard-work. Sources said that Khatri had tried to convince them as well as others whose names were not included in the Committee that they should not worry and very soon he would adjust them at right place.
