Congress slams BJP and SP

PNS

Taking on both the BJP and the SP, the Congress alleged that both parties having government in the Centre and the state were trying to polarise voters through communal hatred as they feared losing the battle of ballot on `development’.

"The sensational incident in Bijnore which left several dead and over a dozen injured was a conspiracy orchestrated by these parties. They want to create an atmosphere, to which the state was witness after the Muzaffarnagar riots ahead of the last Parliament elections,” alleged former Union minister and Congress leader RPN Singh. He was addressing media persons in lucknow on Saturday afternoon.

"The BJP knows that it would not win on any other way except by polarization. Hence they seem to have masterminded the Bijnore incident in west UP," alleged Singh while pointing out how a crowd of over 100 persons suddenly opened fire in Bijnore, killed and injured members of one community only and fuelled communal tension.

"In Muzaffarnagar, the communal riots took place due to an incident of eve-teasing. Now in Binore, a similar incident took place over teasing,” Singh pointed out.

He alleged that the BJP had it’s set agenda of working on `communal line’ and its sinister mission got full support from the ruling Samajwadi Party.

"Both parties have a tacit pact on communal lines as it suits both the BJP and the SP on Saturday. This was corroborated once again on Saturday, when CM Akhilesh Yadav in his address to media persons did not care to mention the Bijnore strife or deteriorating law and order situation," Singh pointed out.

Reacting to the ongoing family within SP's first family, Singh said that it had become a regular feature to divert the public attention from the failure of the SP regime in fulfilling it’s poll promises or development work.

"We do not want to react on Yadav family's internal rift. But the CM has himself admitted that it was not a `family' issue but was a `problem linked to government’. It then becomes a matter of serious concern,” opined Singh.

Highlighting the success of 2500 km `Deoria to Delli Kisan Yatra’ by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, senior leader Rajeev Shukla said that when other leaders were indifferent to people's problems or flying to address public and again returning to their businesses, it was only Rahul who was concerned with the miseries faced by poor and farmers.

Shukla said, " The `27 saal, UP behal' Yatras taken by CM face Sheila Dikshit and state chief Raj Babbar highlighted the failure of successive governments ruling UP in the last 27-years and how these parties engaged in politics of caste or religion. On theother hand, the `Deoria to Dilli Kisan Yatra’ of Rahul is directly enquiring about problems of villagers and farmers."
