Facing humiliating defeat in the last Parliament elections besides finding that the Party is touching the new low as war as battle of ballets is concerned during the last over two decades, Congress would finally kick off their `Sau Ka Dam’(Team Hundred Group)in Bulundshahr on Thursday.
The new efforts has been made to find out an actionable team which helped this oldest political outfit to re-connect with the people, which they felt the Party is badly lacking, particularly in Uttar Pradesh.
Interestingly, Congress made some changes in their programme earlier announced by Mistri. Mistri, during his visit in September last disclosed that they would go in four districts (Ambedkarnagar-8th October, Jaunpur-9th October, Hathras-11th October and Ferojabad-12th October), to directly give a kick to their above plan after which four separate teams will be formed to carry this exercise in the all the district. However, now the programme would be kicked off from Bulundshahr.
``We will launch our much ambitious project-Team Hundred Group (more popular in Congress as Sau Ka Dam), from Bulundshahr on Thursday’, disclosed chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress media cell, Satyadev Tripathi, here on Wednesday afternoon. He claimed that the party senior leaders including AICC general secretary and in-charge of UP, Madhusudan Mistri, state president, Nirmal Khatri, and Congress legislative Party (ClP) leader, Pradeep Mathur, would interact with hundred people selected by the local Congress unit.
``We have selected the people who still had faith and concern for the Congress and we will try to know from them that how the Party could made a better connect with the public, particularly know from them about the local problems and that how they could be over come”, Tripathi disclosed. He claimed that besides discussing with this Team Hundred Group, senior leaders would also held separate meeting with the local district unit chief of Bulundshahr, and would try to take first hand account of the road map, they had drawn from revival of the Party.
It may be mentioned that Mistri, who draw the above map of revival of the Party had claimed that how with better connect, they could brought in more fruitful results for the Party. ``Congress is a brand which is now losing its grip mainly due to generational gap so our main job is tell the present generation not just about our glorious past along with contributions in freedom struggle but also to make them feel that even now we are with the common man and were concern with their day to day problems”, asserted Mistri, while laying stress that the Party’s revival could be made in this biggest state only when they would make a direct connect with the public here.
``It is a matter of concern for us that in Gujrat and many other states, Congress candidate easily get 20,000 or more votes in Assembly elections but here in UP, we get restricted just to few thousands despite of our hard-word”, cited Mistri saying that the core-reason behind it is that Congressmen here do not took pain to make a connect with the people which is very important to re-establish Congress.
Mistri further said for better connect with the people, they had directed the local chiefs to go in wards, villages, hold meeting with local residents, pradhans, and other civic bodies chiefs, know about the local issues and problems, and then prepared a plan along with the budget and suggestions that how those could be overcome.
``This is my personal experience that if you prepared a draft of any problem, and keep on raising the issue on right platform, all the matters would be resolved with period of time”, claimed AICC general secretary while stressing that this practice if adopted in true spirit by the Congressmen, would go a long way in re-establishing Congress connect with the local public. Mistri also directed to open `Public Grievances Cell’ at every district head-quarters and to pursue all the complaints till they reached to it’s logical conclusion.
