Poster war among the political rivals have hotted up Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2017 Assembly polls. After the BJP and the BSP supporters depicted their leaders as deities, how could the 'Congressis' be left behindIJ
So, a poster depicting Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi as in police uniform (a la Dabang or Singham) terming him as 'Jan Rakshak' surfaced in Gorakhpur with the accompanying slogan screaming 'Mitega Atyachar'.
The poster also detailed the misdeeds of rival political parties like 'the CM patronising criminals' and communal forces', 'Mayawati breeding corruption', 'BJP state chief Keshav Prasad Maurya unleashing riots' and 'AIMIM leader Owaisi spreading societal hatred'.
The poster put up by Gorakhpur district Congress general secretary Anwar Hussain also showed the rival leaders bowing before Rahul Gandhi in police uniform asking his forgiveness.
later, Hussain justified the poster and its title before the media and claimed that it was the real situation in UP.
"I have tried to portray a honest picture of the state and the wrong doings of parties and their leaders. Now it is up to the people of UP to realise their fault in supporting these parties and bring Congress back to power after three decades in UP," the Congress leader said.
Meanwhile senior Congress leaders distanced themselves from the poster and served a show-cause notice to Hussain.
"We has served a show-cause notice to the leaders who put up the poster of our leader," asserted UPCC media cell chairman, Satya Deo Tripathi in lucknow on Monday afternoon.
Earlier a BJP worker from Varanasi had circulated a poster on the social media depicting state chief Keshav Prasad Maurya as Krishna and Opposition leaders as Kauravas. In its reply, a BSP worker in Hathras brought out a poster of with BSP chief Mayawati as 'Maa Kali' crushing RSS and BJP leaders.

Congress strongly denied media reports claiming that poll strategist Prashant Kishore had submitted a report to party saying taht the party would be drubbed in teh next state polls if Rahul or Priyanka were not projected as CM candidate.
"These are baseless reports. Every one knows that Rahul is our vice-president and partymen want to see as PM. I can hence say with authority that Rahul will not be the CM face but will lead the campaign for a Congress comeback in UP," asserted UPCC media cell chairman, Satya Deo Tripathi.
He also ruled out the possibility of Priyanka being projected as a CM candidate. ``Priyanka is still not an active member and whether she would like to the mainstream, is for her to decide," Tripathi said.
