Congress legislature party (ClP)leader Pradeep Mathur claimed that apprehending early general elections, the Akhilesh Yadav government in the state hasconvened the assembly session in a hurry violating all norms.
"There is a set norm to convene the assembly session after giving at least 15 days notice. But this time they just gave four days notice violating all norms just fearing that lok Sabha elections could be announced if Congress gets power in the states which went to polls," Mathur said.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday afternoon, along with Congress leader in the state legislative council Naseeb Pathan, Mathur saidthat Congress will be on an attacking role in the assembly session and will raise the failures of the Samajwadi Party government. "The woes of the cane farmers has gone unnoticed by the UP government as they were glove in hand with the private sugar mill owners.
Congress will hold a state wide agitation on December 7 at all the district headquarters over the cane farmers issue while on December 26-27, a 'Ghera Dalo, Dera Dalo' programme would be held in Varanasi to highlight the farmers plight on the issue of cane and paddy procurement and non-implement of Food Security Act. Mathur said Congress will not allow the government to take the poor people of the state for granted and will do whatever required to force the government to implement the Food Security Act.
