Congress accused Samajwadi Party government for patronising criminals and anti-social elements besides giving shelter to tainted ministers and officers engaged in large scale corruption.RsThe manner in which chief minister Akhilesh Yadav had given shelter to tainted ministers like Gyatri Prajapati, Mehboob Ali, facing probe by lokayukuta, Yadav Singh, or even recently Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, chairman, Anil  Yadav, etc all pointed that he had spent last three years of his government just to save such elements and took no care to complete welfare programmes announced by him from time to time”, alleged spokesman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC), Siddharth Priya Srivastava.

Accusing Akhilesh Yadav of giving shelter to criminals and corrupt leaders here on Monday evening, Srivastava said that it is more surprising and showed chief minister’s commitment to fight against corruption is that not just Samajwadi Party leaders or officers close to the Party, Yadav also gave shelter to other Party leaders. Rs No action has been taken by Akhilesh Yadav against leaders of Bharatiya Janta Party whose names came for pushing the state on communal bomb or in massacre of innocent persons during riots at Muzaffarnagar. Besides, lokayukta recommended criminal proceedings against at least over a dozen ministers in Mayawati led Bahujan Samaj Party government but in none of the matter, Akhilesh Yadav took cognizance, forcing the state ombudsman to sent Special Report to Governor seeking to put Action Taken Report on the floor of the House”, Srivastava asserted adding that all criminals and anti-social elements were flourishing under the present SP regime.
