Stung by withdrawal of candidature by BJP leaders in legislative Council elections, the state BJP has formed a four-member committee to enquire into the matter and report the same to the state President.
BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pthak saiud in a statement issued here on Wednesday that State BJP president laxmi Kant Bajpai has appointed enquiry officers to probe reasons behind candidates withdrawing their nomination in counciol elections.
Surya Pratap Shahi has been appointed enquiry officer of Agra, Ramapati Ram Tripathi of Banda, Shiv Pratap Shukla of Meerut and Satish Mahana of lucknow-Unnao region as inquiry officers.
He said the committee will look into selection, nomination and withdrawal of candidature and is expected to submit its report by March 6.
