With an aim to establish a link between UP’s own perform capital Kannauj with world’s perform city Grasse, a delegation led by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will visit France from May 21 to 26. “The visit will help officers to understand the nitty-gritty of perfume business so that the Ita of Kannauj could be taken to the global platform,” government spokesman said in a statement issued here on Wednesday.
Dimple Yadav, wife of Chief Minister, who is also MP from Kannauj is part of this six member delegation that also comprises officials from UPSIDC. Spokesman said that state government wants to establish Kannauj as major perfume industry. The technical know how would help officials to make the Itr industry of Kannauj as viable, he said. Grasse is the centre of the French perfume industry and is known as the world’s perfume capital. Grasse produces over two-thirds of France’s natural aromas (for perfume and for food flavourings). This industry turns over more than 600 million euros a year.
