On his maiden visit outside the state capital, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will review development schemes of Bundelkhand on Thursday where he will be meeting with officials.
A senior official said that the main agenda of the CM’s programme will be to check preparedness of district administration to face the summer months.
The Bundelkhand visit assumes importance as it will be Yogi's first visit to any area of the state after becoming the CM.
Official sources said that Yogi will leave for Jhansi by a chopper at 10.35 am on Thursday and hold a review meeting with officials of both Jhansi and Chitrkoot divisions. At 2.30 pm, the CM will make an on-the-spot inspection of various development works and review drinking water facilities in the region.
Bundelkhand has expressed severe drought during the past four years except for last year when there were moderate rains during the monsoon.
Meanwhile, the state BJP has claimed that the visit of Yogi Adityanath to Bundelhand shows the party's and the CM's commitment towards the region.
State BJP general secretary and in-charge of Bundelkhand region Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that the government has already announced 20-hour power supply to the region and sanctioned Rs 45 crore for drinking water facilities.
"This visit of the CM will certainly boost the developmental works in the region,” Pathak said.
The BJP had routed all political parties in Bundelkhand region during the Assembly elections and bagged all 19 Assembly seats.
