State BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya said that Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will be responsible if rape accused minister Gyatri Prajapati fled the country. A case of gang rape and POCSO Act were registered against Prajaparti and his cronies on the directions of Supreme Court on February.
Maurya said in a statement on Saturday that the CM should tell the people as to where he has hidden Prajapati. Earlier on Friday, Maurya had alleged that Prajapati was hiding at the CM’s official residence on Kalidas Marg and the police were enacting a drama on searching the minister.
Maurya had also said that if the CM so desired then Prajapati would be behind bars in 10 minutes.
The police after lodging the FIR took no action against the minister and he freely campaigned for his elections in Amethi Assembly seat where polling was held on February 27. The CM had also campaigned for the minister.
After the FIR was registered, the state government had withdrawn Y category security cover to Prajapati. The police in the last six days raided his Prajapati’s official residence at Gautam Palli and in Amethi but he was not found. The police later obtained non-bailable warrants against the minister and also initiated proceedings for cancellation of his passport.
