Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has suspended three excise officials for giving wrongdepartmental figures during 2011-12. In a statement issued here on Sunday the then district excise officer of Kanpur Vinod Kumar, the then Excise officer of Agra S P Singh and Excise Inspector, Kanpur sector -3 Mubarak Ali have been suspended for giving wrong department figures in the fiscal 2011-12.
Officials say that these officials, in an attempt to win laurels from their seniors, bloated the figures and these were 33 per cent more that the actual figure. Departmental inquiry has also been initiated against them, the statement said.
