After giving a proposal for pre-poll alliance with Congress in the Uttar Pradesh polls, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav further bonded his relationship with Congress by saying that ‘Rahul Gandhi is his old friend’.
“I and Rahul Gandhi are old friends and even sat in the Parliament together,” Yadav said soon after inaugurating the country first bird festival in Bah at Agra on Saturday. The CM, however refused to say anything much on the matter.
“What I said yesterday was the news on a specific question but I have nothing to say fresh on the matter,” he said. On Friday, Akhilesh Yadav during a programme of a newspaper group in New Delhi said that Samajwadi Party can hope for an alliance with Congress in UP if they agree on to make Mulayam Singh Yadav as a PM candidate and Rahul Gandhi as deputy PM.
