Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav claimed that timely launch of `Dial-100’ project to facilitate responsive police force and other essential services would emerge as a milestone to prove his government’s commitment towards probiding better law and order to the common man.

"I would like to thank all the officials associated to ensure timely launch of 'Dial-100' project. It not only  shows our commitment towards ensuring better law and order but also indicates our transparent approach towards rpoviding a fearless society,” asserted the CM on Thursday morning.

He was addressing senior police officers soon after going through a presentation on preparation of timely launch of the ambitious project.

"It is particularly the government’s duty to provide a fear free atmosphere to people. It has to ensure that the next generation lives in a  peaceful environ. I can say with confidence that the world's biggest integrated modern Police Emergency Response System (PERS) in UP would turn out to be a milestone towards SP's commitment to provide a healthy atmosphere to everyone,” said he.

Yadav also took a jibe on police working and also their misconduct. ``During a morning stroll, I noticed that my gardener picked up some mangoes while cleaning leaves. Each time, the security personnel stopped him from taking it despite my instructions to allow him to take the fruits home,” he revealed while claiming that the cops have a habit of doing such things and now follow instructions.

Yadav pointed out, "The media highlighted mostly the bad work of the cops and even of politicians and ignore their good work. You wear Khakhi so your shortcomings are exposed at later stages. But we (Netas) wear white dress so our bad conduct immediately comes to the fore,” he quipped.

Hailing the efforts of police officers, Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan said that the project would turn out to be a `game changer’.

"I can say with confidence that 'Dial-100' project would turn out to be game changer in UP and the people would realise the presence of police, irrespective of its urban or rural location,” he said.

Security Advisor to the government, Venkat Chengawalli, who along with ADG (Traffic) Anil Agarwal, is said to be brain behind the launching of Dial-100 project, said "This 24X7 service had all women employees who will receive call as W stands for warmth, O for observation, M for modesty, E for empathy and finally N for nurturing. So only woman had all elements of giving warmth, observation, modesty, empathy and nurturing”, he said.

Giving details of the Dial-100 project Anil Agarwal said that the service would be a major step to improve police response time and improve law and order in the state. He said that the PERS would enable the police to reach a spot within 20 minutes in rural area and 10 minutes in urban areas.

"This is the biggest project in the country for modernisation of police system and will have sub-centres at Agra, Ghaziabad, Jhansi and Varanasi," Agarwal said.
