Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during the ‘Janata Darshan’ organised at the Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan in Gorakhpur on Wednesday, directed officers to ensure speedy and satisfactory resolution of land disputes.

The chief minister said that no encroachment should be there on government or poor people’s properties. Also, if a poor person was found residing on government land, arrangements should be made for his rehabilitation and providing him of her benefits of the welfare schemes he/she was eligible for, he added.

The chief minister interacted with about 250 people at the Janata Darshan to learn about their grievances and gave necessary instructions to the officials concerned to address them on priority basis.

As many women complained about land-related problems at the Janata Darshan, the chief minister directed police officers to take stern action against anyone found in unauthorised occupation of land.

“Habitual land grabbers should be labeled as land mafia and strict action should be taken against them. People who encroach on the land of any poor should face punitive action so that it serves as a lesson to them, he said, adding that the land disputes should be “resolved quickly and to the aggrieved party's satisfaction”.

Also, people should be made aware not to encroach on government land, he added.

The chief minister told the complainants not to worry as disposal of their problems and their welfare were the top priorities of the government.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave instructions to police and administrative officers to “find prompt and effective resolutions of complaints involving the police as well as revenue and of other nature.

The chief minister assured the people of all possible financial assistance from the government for medical treatment.

“Medical treatment should not be stopped due to lack of money. The government will immediately provide funds to the needy upon receiving estimates,” he said.

The chief minister referred the applications seeking medical aid to the officials concerned and directed them to complete the estimation process soon and present it to the government.

The chief minister also gave chocolates and blessed the children accompanying the complainants at the Janata Darshan.
