Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with his two deputies— Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma, and two minister of state - Swantradeo Singh and Mohsin Raza, would file their nominations for by-poll to five seats of the legislative Council on Tuesday.
Tomorrow is the last date for filing of nominations in four seats while the last date for the remaining one seat is September 8.
Sources in the BJP said that the candidates would file their nominations around 11 am.
Newly appointed state BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey will accompany the ministers to the Assembly during the filing of their nomination.
As all seats would have separate elections, hence, the BJP and its allies who have a two-third majority in the Assembly would win all seats without any contest and hence no Opposition candidate has filed nomination.
Though it is not clear as who will file nomination for the fifth seat whose term is just for eight months, the results of the four first seats would be announced on September 8. The candidate for the fifth seat would have to wait till September 11 to get the winning certificate.
Among the candidates, Yogi Adityanath and Keshav Prasad Maurya were MPs while the rest were not members of either House. Both Yogi and Maurya have resigned from their lok Sabha seats of Gorakhpur and Phulpur respectively.
