With just 24-hours remain for campaigning for the first phase polls in the State, the supporters of Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) had a violent clash when one of the group opened fire in which a BSP leader was killed while five others from both side were seriously injured and shifted to hospital.
The clash took place in Hathras district on Wednesday afternoon. Reports said that supporters of SP candidate and sitting MlA from Sadabad, Devendra Agarwal, allegedly indulged in brick batting and attacked with lathis the vehicle carrying supporters of BSP candidate Ramveer Upadhaya including his son Chiragvir Upadhaya, on Wednesday morning. They also opened fire in which BSP leader Pushpendra (30) was killed and five others, including the BSP candidate’s son, were hurt in the incident near Manakpur township. The injured were rushed to a hospital where condition of three of them identified as Rinku Thakur, Gurumukh, Saurabh has been stated to `serious’. SP, Hathras, Dilip Kumar said FIRs were registered based on the complaints filed by the two sides and additional force has been deployed in the area to avert any further clash. BSP candidate Ramveer Upadhaya is pitted against Devendra Agarwal of SP from the Sadabad assembly seat where polling is slated in the first phase on Saturday next.
Meanwhile a deputy SP rank officer also orchestrated killing of his wife’s paramour in Moradabad. Reports said that Vishal William (32), a apprentice technicial in the C&W Workshop in Railways at Moradabad was found murdered near his office on last Wednesday. The GRP Moradabad registered a case and during investigation, they found that deputy SP Prakash Ram Arya, posted in Police Training School (PTS) in Meerut had orchestrated killing.
The above sensational fact came to the fore when the cops arrested two of the killers identified as Rahul and Puran, and also recovered the weapon used to kill the victim. Both the criminals revealed that Arya’s wife developed illicit relations with William in 2012 to which the officer was opposing. Both also clashed and William had lodged some cases of assault against Arya. later it was revealed that Arya had purchased some properties in Haldwani and Uttrakhand, to which his wife and his paramour William wanted to grab. Arya’s wife also filed a divorce in Rudrapur court to live with William. Unhappy with the development, Arya planned murder of William with the help of hired killer. Both the accused were sent to jail and now GRP police had launched a hunt for Arya, who was absconding.
