Claims made by CM 'false and hollow' : BJP

Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party government, the BJP said on Tuesday that the claims of development made by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav while completing four years in office, were ‘false and hollow’.

“The CM talks about Ambulance Service and claims it as his government’s achievement. The truth is that a ruling party law maker died on his way to hospital only because the ambulance which carted the injured to a hospital, did not have oxygen cylinder and a doctor. If a legisltor of the ruling SP dies in an an ambulance, one can well imagine the plight of  the common man. Can the CM still include ambulance service in his list of achievements,” said BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak in lucknow on Tuesday.

He said that development does not mean merely constructing lucknow-Agra Expressway. It means means providing employment to the young and jobless and giving an opportunity to the people to live with pride.

“Why is the CM silent on the issue of employment. Why did he parry questions on job guarantee schemes. The SP government came to power in 2012 but it never mentioned a word about skill development then. When the Modi government started talking about skill development, the UP government too jumped the bandwagon,” Pathak pointed out.

The BJP spokesman also raised the question of law and order. “The CM today claimed that he will look after law and order himself. If Yadav will monitor law and order from now on, who was in-charge of Home department for the last four years. This shows the CM has failed to rein in  the crime situation and is now at a loss of words to explain his party’s failure,” he said.

“The only achievement of Akhilesh Yadav has been on increasing casteism in government working and promoting his family in politics. Otherwise the government has failed on all fronts,” Pathak said.
