Centre, state govts anti-farmer: BJP

Biswajeet, PNS

Calling Central and the state governments as anti-farmer former BJP national president Nitin Gadkari said that cane farmers were suffering because of the faulty policies of these two governments and the time has come to teach them a lesson.

Addressing Swabhimaan Rally in lakhimpur Khiri on Thursday he said that such an important state like Uttar Pradesh is craving for development. The roads are in bad shape. Electricity is truant. The water supply is pathetic. Because the labour is cheap in UP people from here go to other states and earn riches for that state.

"Why cannot they do it for their own state," he asked and answered: "They have failed to turn the tide in UP because the state government is not supporting them. The policies are same in UP and Maharashtra but farmers there are economically better then their counterpart here. This is because of the policies of the state government."

Party’s national secretary Varun Gandhi said that the troika of Congress, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party had ruined the country as well as state. The policies of the central government are pathetic and the same are followed by the state government here."The time has come to get rid of them," he said.
