Central govt ignored UP :CM

Hitting out at the Union Government Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that Central Government has always ignored Uttar Pradesh despite this state has given maximum number of MPs.

“We have sought help from the Union Government from time to time but it has ignored our requests. Despite I have written two letters to prime Minister to release relief fund for farmers who lost their crop in recent rains the Government has so far given us just peanuts,” Yadav said while addressing a rally in lalitpur here on Thursday.

He said that Uttar Pradesh has sought a central assistance of Rs 6000 crore from centre but so far we have received only Rs 250 crore. “The central team had visited rain affected areas almost a month back but is yet to submit a final report. The farmers need help. The UP Government has distributed Rs 1100 crore from our budget because we wont let the farmers down,” he said.

He said the Uttar Pradesh Government has sought funds for various development schemes but our pleas were thrown in dustbins. This is done when Uttar Pradesh has given maximum number of MPs from state. “The Prime Minister is from UP. The Union Home Minister is MP from lucknow and even Defence minister if from this state. Despite having galaxy of leaders from Uttar Pradesh the union government has not extended help to us,” he said.

Yadav said this really flummox everyone that despite UP electing 73 NDA MPs the Union Government is least bothered about development of UP. “In fact, the Union Government is not co-operating with us on development,” he said.

He was speaking at a public meeting after inaugurating three solar power plants of 10 MW capacity each in village Amrapur. The solar power plants would be constructed at the cost of Rs 80 crore each. “Our Prime Ministers now gives more time in foreign country. He says he is bringing investment. This is good. But country cannot progress unless we promote Make in UP. The NDA’s Make in India campaign will succeed only if we make investors to invest in UP,” he said.

He spoke at length about the development schemes his government has launched. “If we are building infrastructure by improving power generation and building roads, we have also extended a helping hand to poor through Samajwadi Pension scheme. The poor girls are imparted free education and school children are given free food,” he said. “My vision is clear. I want to take UP to new height whether I get support from centre or not,” he declared.
