Bureaucracy misleading CM Yogi, says Akhilesh

PNS

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav said that the bureaucracy was misleading UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath about the coronavirus pandemic.

He alleged that the bureaucracy was careless and indifferent in dealing with the crisis caused by the pandemic and to save their skin and escape accountability, the officials were misleading the chief minister resulting in the galloping spread of the coronavirus.

“The pandemic is spreading and the government has no idea of the seriousness of the situation. The crisis is aggravating and the UP government remains mute spectator. As per the opinion of experts, there will be record number of coronavirus infections by the end of September. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath holds marathon meetings every day but its results remain zero,” Akhilesh Yadav said on Sunday.

He added, “The BJP government is only doing lip service as they have neither done anything nor intend to do anything.”

Questioning the claims of the chief minister on the economy of the state, Akhilesh Yadav said, “The chief minister’s claim is not based on facts and the officials have fudged the figures and they are misleading him.”

The SP chief said the state government neither had any vision to contain the spread of the coronavirus nor preparation for treatment of the COVID-19 patients.

He alleged that the Yogi Adityanath government was incapable and incompetent to deal with the crisis caused by the pandemic as the cases of infection were galloping.

Akhilesh Yadav charged that due to the laxity of the administration, the COVID-19 patients were running from pillar to post for treatment as neither ambulance were available nor the patients were admitted to hospitals.

He said the shortage of doctors and paramedical staff had aggravated the crisis. He said the COVID-19 patients were turned back from the hospitals and there was no one to take care of them in RML Hospital of Lucknow.

The former chief minister said the situation was no better in Gorakhpur, the home district of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, as the hospitals were waterlogged in the district. He said in Bareilly the roof of the hospital was leaking and many serious patients had died while being shifted to other hospitals.

Akhilesh Yadav asked what was preventing the UP government from accepting the idea of home quarantine as there was acute shortage of beds even after the government had acquired large number of hotels as Covid facilities.

He said the government was unwilling to accept this idea as this demand was raised by the Samajwadi Party.
