BJP has accused the opposition that they are boycotting the proceedings of the assembly only due to the chief minister Yogi Adityanath move to recommend enquiry by the CBI into the irregularities in recruitment by the UP public service commission. The BJP government contradicted the opposition charge against the chief minister saying that Yogi Adityanath had not said anything derogatory against anybody or named any leader during his reply to general debate on budget on Wednesday.
“Why the opposition is so furious over the announcement by the CM for a CBI inquiry into irregularities in recruitment and those found guilty would be sent to jail. CM had said nothing wrong. Yogi Adityanath had no personal agenda and his sole agenda is to improve the lot of the common people fight corruption and ensure justice for the common people’’, said the parliamentary affairs minister Suresh Khanna in the state assembly on Friday. He said the government has only recommended for a probe by the CBI and not announced judgment on this issue.
``The Allahabad high court had also passed strictures against the government and the service commission and had stayed several appointments. The BJP government got the mandate from the people to clear the mess and ensure justice with thousands of youths who were cheated and denied opportunity by the commission’’, said Suresh Khanna.
``The leader of opposition was allowed to ask clarifications by the chair on Wednesday after the speech of the chief minister. Instead of asking questions the leader of opposition Ram Govind Chowdhary narrated a cock and bull story which was against the dignity of the house and the glorious parliamentary traditions’’, charged Suresh Khanna.
Terming the stance of the opposition parties as irresponsible Suresh Khanna said ``there is not even an iota of truth in charges of the opposition against the CM, if they have some evidence then they should come to the house and table the facts on the floor of the house ‘’.
``If somebody has done wrong then they will have to face the music. Should we put them in jail or templeIJ The CBI inquiry in Public service commission is fully justified as the BJP has got the peoples mandate for clearing the huge mess left by the previous SP government’’, asserted Suresh Khanna.
Accusing the opposition of defying the peoples mandate by boycotting the house minister said ``the people have voted them to raise their issue inside the House but they are not running away from their basic duties.’’
“Speaker tried to persuade them and talked to them for 40 minutes on Thursday. I also spoke to them. But they are adamant, which shows that they don’t want to participate in the proceedings,” he said.
Rebutting the charges of the opposition on the law and order minister said ``it’s like pot calling the kettle black. The officer of the rank of Superintendent of police were killed during the previous government. The attack on the police personals were the order of the day during the SP regime. SP government destroyed the social fabric of the state. People are not willing to believe that we will fix the problems and clear the mess left by the previous SP government’’.
``It was an uphill task for the government to waive the farm loan and also give the benefit of the seventh pay commission to the state employees as the government inherited empty coffers. Yet the finance minister mobilised resources and implemented both the decisions’’, said Suresh Khanna adding `` we are getting regular calls from the overseas praising the performance of the Yogi Government but opposition is not willing to see their misdeeds when they were in power’’.
