Bolstered by the CBI report: two sisters were not raped

Biswajeet, PNS

Bolstered by the CBI report which claimed that two sisters in Budaun were not raped, the Samajwadi Party demanded an apology from the opposition leaders for blaming the Uttar Pradesh government for protecting accused of  the rape case.

‘’As now when the CBI has found in the  forensic report that the sisters were not raped, the claim of the UP government is vindicated,’’ SP spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhury said in a statement issued here on Thursday.

Chaudhury said several leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Mayawati, Ram Vilas Paswan, Meira Kumar had blamed the UP government of protecting the accused. But now when the probe of UP police is being justified by the CBI, these leaders should apologise to the UP government.

CBI had disclosed in New Delhi that  the Hyderabad-based Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) has ruled out sexual assault on the teenage girls whose bodies were found hanging from a tree on May 27 last in Katra village of Badaun.

UP DGP A l Banerjee during the investigation of the police had hinted that it was a case of honour killing. But the opposition blamed the UP
government of protecting the accused and hence it was handed over to the CBI.

Now CBI too was suspicious about the role of the family members of the girls. Eralier SP General Secdretary Ram Gopal Yadav too demanded an apology from the opposition leaders for defaming the UP government over the Badaun killings.
