Even as BJP’s prime ministerial candidate is yet set his foot on UP soil he is able to hog the limelight as he is again blamed for Muzaffarnagar riots. This time it is Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) General Secretary and Minister of state for agriculture and food processing Tariq Anwar who blamed Modi for instigating people that led to riots in Muzaffarnagar.

‘’Modi has sent his confidante Amit Shah to UP to turn the state into Gujarat before the lok Sabha elections to polarise the voters,’’ the NCP leader said here on Sunday. He also blamed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for failing to meet people’s expectations.

“Shah is an ‘expert’ in creating communal disturbances like he did in Gujarat and BJP was now trying to repeat the same formula in UP,’’ Anwar said and added Modi’s strategy is now clear – his philosophy is divide and rule.

The minister admitted that young Akhilesh Yadav has failed to live up to the expectation of people as his Government has failed to perform. But his barbs were pointed more towards BJP as he blamed this party for the Muzaffarnagar riots.

‘’NCP had sent a five-member delegation to Muzaffarnagar and they have submitted a report to the party president and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar stating that the people staying in the relief camps are still suffering from fear and they are not ready to return to their villages,’’ Anwar said. “Situation will not normalize till the people return to their villages”, he said.

He also stated that the Centre is ready to provide all possible help to the state in connection with the loss in crop to the farmers. He demanded that the UP government should also expedite in providing giving jobs and compensation to the families of the riot victims.

When asked about conviction of lalu Yadav in Fodder scam he said no one can ignore him in Bihar. “lalu would be a big factor in elections in Bihar. You cannot rule him out,” he said.
