The Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to include the Narendra Modi Government’s pet schemes like ‘Namami Gange’ and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ as the theme in its mass contact programme starting from May 24. BJP state president laxmikant Bajpai said that during the mass contact programme, the party workers would inform the new members about the projects that the Modi Government had launched.
“Special focus will be on Namami Gange – the massive campaign to clean up the river Ganga – as well as on the Central Government’s initiative to educate female child by its Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign,” Bajpai told reporters here on Wednesday. He said during the two-day party state executive meeting, the leaders held detailed discussions on various issues, including successful membership drive. Bajpai said thesenior leaders gave talking points to the party workers regarding the achievements of the Modi Government. During the mass contact programme, the party workers will go to the residences of the new members who have acquired BJP membership digitally. They will inform these membership about the policies of the BJP and the vision of the Modi Government. The party claims that it has enrolled 1.80 crore new members.
“It is a fact that what we achieved in 10 months, the United Progressive Alliance Government could not come near it in its 10-year rule. Our Government has worked on improving infrastructure like roads and enhanced power generation besides working on social sector,” Bajpai said. He said BJP national president Amit Shah had asked party workers to highlight the Modi Government’s achievements. Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has explained how the National Democratic Alliance Government has speeded up construction of roads.
He also informed party workers about the positives of land Acquisition Bill brought by the Union Government. BJP general secretary Ram lal educated party workers about the policy and philosophy of the party. “The Samajwadi Party Government has failed to protect the lives of people and farmers. The Government has not passed on compensation which the Union Government has given to the state Government. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is only shedding crocodile tears. In fact, the state Government does not have the heart to help the farmers,” Bajpai said.
He asked party workers to develop contact with the villagers. “The mass contact is a programme aimed at meeting people and solving their problems. The party workers should emerge as the voice of the people and work unitedly to take BJP to new heights in the 2017 Assembly elections,” he said. Bajpai, however, avoided questions on party’s debacle in the byelections in which the BJP lost all the seats.
