The state BJP unit has come down heavily on BSP chief Mayawati charging that her silence on a poster depicting her as Goddess Kali speaks volumes about the mentality of BSP workers.
"This is shameful of the BSP workers to depict Mayawati in Kali’s avatar. She is shown stomping on RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and carrying the severe head of Union HRD minister Smriti Irani in her hand.
More shameful is Mayawati's silence and other state leaders in this case," BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said in lucknow on Monday.
A picture has gone viral in the social media in which Mayawati is shown as Goddess Kali. The poster was taken out in a tableau at a programme at Hathras on Sunday evening but was promptly removed by the district adminstration officials.
Pathak said that the BJP has a strong inkling that such a poster was released with Mayawati's nod because she had said at the Parliament that no BSP leader issues statement without her permission.
"Earlier, she had claimed herself to be a Devi and now BSP workers have only acted to please her and depicted her as a Devi," Pathak said.
