BJP Sate unit targets Akhilesh

PNS

The State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has once again targeted the Akhilesh Yadav government over the issue of declining State Gross Domestic Product (SGDP) ahead of 2017 assembly Polls saying these figures speaks volumes about financial mismanagement.BJP quoting the data released by State Planning Commission said here the GDP in the financial year 2012-13 was 5.8 per cent but it was expected that it would remain 5 per cent for 2013-14.

BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadaur Pathak told reporters here on Sunday that the government has failed to maintain the GDP and the downfall was in contravention to the slogan of ‘Rising UP’ given by Samajwadi Party government.“Chief Minister has himself admitted that the credit-deposit ratio in the state is very skewed.

The money saved by the people in different schemes and banks goes for development of other states as Uttar Pradesh does not have investment opportunities. The banks feel safe in offering loans to the people of their states than to the people of Uttar Pradesh,” Pathak said.He said that Uttar Pradesh being agro-intensive state does not have enough agro-based units.

Thus, the farm sector is not able to impart employment. last year witnessed natural disasters in form of hailstorms, drought and flooding in eastern Uttar Pradesh due to excess release of water from Nepal affecting agriculture production. “In that case too state failed to extend relief to the farmers. The state is now relying totally on central assiatnce and Chief Minister is writing letters to Centre for clearing compensation,” BJP spokesman said.

Pathak also alleged that the Akhilesh Yadav government failed to match his father Mulayam Singh Yadav’s government as the GDP during his regime crossed 8.1 per cent.Similarly, during Mayawati’s regime there was a tremendous downfall in SGDP, Pathak said. The countdown for the assembly election has begun and the state government should prepare itself to answer people as why it failed to streamline finances.

The development rate of the state is divided into three sectors. These are Agriculture, Trade and Service sectors and there was a downfall in developing rates of all these sectors. Interestingly there was a growth in developing rate in real state, communication, banking and insurance sectors.
