Taking a dig at Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s inspection visit to districts the state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party said that CM’s this administrative step was an attempt to divert people’s attention from increase in crime against women.

BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that CM held a chaupal in a village in Srawasti district to know the ground reality. This shows till now he had no idea about non-implementation of schemes at the village level, he said in a statement here on Wednesday.

“The Chief Minister has ordered suspension of six officers and has transferred DM of Srawasti. It would have been better had he reviewed the projects and had taken them back because these schemes are not functional at village level,” he said.

He said the government has failed on all fronts. The law and order situation in the state is bad and it is going from bad to worse with every passing day.

“CM;s inspection visit was an attempt to divert people’s attention from deteriorating law and order situation. People know the truth and will not get swayed by Government’s these antics,” he said.

Meanwhile, BJP state president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai has written a letter to Governor regarding increase in crime against the women and urged him to take decisions at his end so that people could get relief.
