Claiming that the BJP government has been able to wipe out ‘mafia raj’ in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said it was the difference between BJP and other parties as previous regimes always patronised criminal elements.
“It is no secret that during the last 15 years, the governments of opposition parties only nurtured these criminals in UP. Mafia elements grabbed the lands of the poor and set up their empires with the help of ruling politicians. On the other hand, the BJP regime has eliminated the mafia from the state,” Yogi said while addressing office bearers of booth, division and sector of Malhani (Janupur) Assembly segment, where the bypoll is scheduled on November 3.
The CM said that the Prime Minister’s mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, SabkaVikas’ should be the motto of the party. “There is no alternative to development and nefarious designs of the opposition can be mitigated through development only,” he said.
Yogi said that elements who had no faith in development were bent upon vitiating the atmosphere through politics of caste, religion and region. He exhorted BJP workers to spread the message of development among the masses and insulate them from negativity.
The Chief Minister further said that welfare carried out by the state government during Covid had been exemplary. “During Covid time, the UP government gave pension to 87 lak elderly, widows and handicapped people, power connections were provided to 4 crore households and basic health care was extended to 24 crore people,” he said.
State BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh said that mass contact and communication were of paramount importance during Covid. “It is very important to motivate people to vote in large numbers as high percentage will always help,” he said.
