Apprehending rigging by Samajwadi Party in the forthcoming bye-elections the state unit of BJP has requested election commission to ask ministers and other senior SP leaders to move out of the constituencies that will go to polls on September 11.
The BJP has appealed to the EC to push out all the UP ministers and other leaders out of the polling constituencies so that voters could cast their votes without fear and prejudice. “The EC should also issue orders directly to the district authorities to deploy Central forces in all the booths. Besides, micro-observers should be posted in each booth and video-recording should be carried out in each booth,” BJP state presidenr Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai said here on Thursday.
He said that never in the history such large number of central forces are deployed in Mainpuri seat. Out of the 68 companies deployed for this election 21 would be deployed only in Mainpuri,” Bajpai said..
BJP leader said that SP was using district authorities to harass the BJP leaders as it is reflected in lucknow, Bahriach and other places. ‘’On the dictate of the UP government, I along with Yogi Adityanath could not campaign in Thakurdwara, Nighasan and Mainpuri. In Balha in Bahriach district, the helipad made for campaigning of Hemamalani was damaged by SP workers,” he said.
He said even in lucknow party did not violate any norms. The party leaders campaigned in the vehicles approved by the district authorities. Despite that later in the night, lucknow authorities impounded 3 of our campaign vehicles, Bajpai said.
Elaborating on lucknow controversy Bajpai said the party had given application for lucknow meeting on September 5 and on September 7 administration gave permission. later on administration took application of SP and cancelled both the meetings,’’ he said and questioned why did the authorities entertained the second application of SP when it had given permission to the BJP. He also clarified that BJP had not withdrawn application for holding meeting. “If there is any application like this, it is fake,” he said.
