BJP mocks at SP-BSP tieup

Taking a jibe at Mayawati’s decision to break alliance and contest bypolls on its own, the state unit of the BJP said that its prediction about the SP-BSP mahagathbandhan going in a disarray would prove true after the Lok Sabha results.

“It is the family drama of the SP-BSP. The Bua-Bhatija will come up with more episodes and  will expose each other in the public,” said government spokesperson Srikanth Sharma here on Tuesday.

Sharma, who is also Power Minister in UP government, said that people had rejected the opportunistic alliance which joined hands in the Lok Sabha polls. “They knew that this was not gathbandhan but thagbandhan. And now when it failed, they are blaming each other,” he said.

However, the BJP leader was more critical about SP president Akhilesh Yadav saying the elections had put a big question mark over his leadership quality. “The day Akhilesh took the reins of the SP, the party is going down . Akhilesh has no confidence,” he said while talking to reporters.  “Akhilesh first allied with the Congress when they were in power in 2017 but failed totally. Now again in 2019, they set up a mahagathbandhan but again failed. This shows his political incompetence and lack of people’s connect,” he said.
