The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party hit out at Moradabad MP of Samajwadi Party ST Hasan for his remark accusing the BJP-led Central government of interfering with Sharia laws as a result of which and deaths during the pandemic and cyclone were caused.
Terming the SP MP’s remarks bizarre, UP Minority Affairs Minister Mohsin Raza said that Hasan and his party did not believe in the Indian Constitution and wanted to impose Sharia law in the country. Likening the views of the Samajwadi Party with those of ISIS, Raza claimed that both believed in Sharia laws.
He said that SP had objected to the introduction of CAA, celebration of Holi and construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. He further said that the cry of injustice was being raised by the Samajwadi Party which is responsible for killings and inciting riots. He said that the people of Uttar Pradesh were getting justice due to the efforts of the BJP government led by Yogi Adityanath.
Earlier, ST Hasan had said, “There was a law made which interfered with Sharia law. A law was made so that one particular community, the Muslim community, will not get citizenship while others will get it. Due to this injustice, you have seen the problems this country is facing. In ten days, we have witnessed two cyclones, we have seen how the poor have been affected by Covid.”
Alleging that injustice to Muslims due to the introduction of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Hasan claimed that it led to the country being affected by two cyclones (Tauktae & Yaas) within ten days and that the poor were affected by the pandemic and there was large number of deaths and pinned the blame on the Centre's alleged intervention in Sharia law. The Moradabad MP further claimed that God did justice only if the ruler of the land did so.
