Hailing Samajwadi Party’s victory in recent Pharenda bye-election senior party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav said that with this win BJP has been pushed to number three post in Uttar Pradesh. “This victory is reflection of government’s economic and socialist policies. People have liked the policies of the Government because they know Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is working for the welfare of masses. Thus, they have voted in favour of SP,” he told reporters here on Sunday. He said BJP might claim that its membership has gone up and has touched 1.5 crore mark but the fact is people are with SP. “The claims of BJP is hollow and the by poll result has proved that,” he said.

He felt that the masses has immense faith in the pro- -people policies of the government that is the reason why its candidate won by a huge margin and throwing the BJP candidate to third position. It is to be remembered that BJP candidate won the election in the last state assembly poll held in 2012. Appreciating the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, he said that every section of the society has been benefittted by his  beneviolent policies and committed to people’s well-being. The policies of the chief minister are so ideal that it will made UP into the model state in days to come, he added. Praising the national president Mulayam Singh Yadav, he said the  former chief minister is fighting against the reactionary forces and making sincere effort to bring communal harmony in the state.
