The BJP has demanded the removal of DGP Javeed Ahmed and two dozen other officials of the state government for ensuring free and fair conduct of the Assembly polls.
A delegation of BJP leaders led by Union minister of state for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and MP Bhupendra Yadav met Chief Electoral Officer of UP, T Venkatesh in lucknow on Friday and submitted a memorandum for the removal of these officials.
The BJP leaders also raised the issue of delay in grant of permission by the administration for installing hoardings and election campaign by motor cycles.
later, talking to the media, Naqvi said that the Congress has turned into the ‘benami property’ of the corrupt and it has fixed a `to let’ board. Taking an obvious dig at the Congress for its alliance with the Samajwadi Party, the BJP leader said, “In all state Assembly elections, the Congress put the party on hire and keeps a tenant. During the elections, people reject both the Congress and the tenant.’’
Criticising the recent entry of Ansari brothers of Ghazipur into the BSP, Naqvu said that the Bahujan Samaj Party has become the safe haven for criminals and musclemen.
Naqvi claimed that the BJP will form the next government in UP by posting a thumping win in the Assembly elections. He said that all other parties with supporters of tainted elements are fighting the BJP.
