Alleging that patients have become a puppet in the hands of State Government in this election year the Bharatiya Janata party said that how can Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav claim improvement in health care facilities in the state when there are paucity of doctors.
"The SP-led UP government has started 102 ambulance service but what about shortage of medicos and para-medical staff," BJP state unit spokesman Dr Chandra Mohan said here on Friday.
"Would these ambulances be of any help without doctors and medical staff", he questioned.
About 3,000 posts of medicos were lying vacant in government hospitals. Moreover, there is scarcity of nurses and specialized doctors in the government hospitals, the BJP leader alleged.
Moreover, the state government's decision to provide free X-Ray facility to patients in government hospitals is a pre-poll stunt to woo the voters. In actual, the number of X-Ray machines was so less that people have to wait for hours for their chance.
