The BJP candidate for Gorakhpur lok Sabha by-elections Upendra Dutt Shukla who had undergone surgery for removing a clot in the brain at Sanjay Gandhi Post Gradute Institute (SGPGI) here early this week was released from the hospital on Sunday morning.
SGPGI spokesman said that Shukla has been released from the hospital this morning but he was asked not to exert much for the next one week.
The BJP candidate, however, immediately left for Gorakhpur after getting released from the hospital.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also gone to meet Shukla in the hospital on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier the operation to remove a blood clot in the head was successfully done by the doctors of neuro Surgery department.
Shukla was referred to SGPGI lucknow from Gorakhpur on Monday
