BJP alleges SP shields corrupt officers

The Bharatiya Janata Party has hailed the High Court’s decision to order CBI probe into Yadav Singh’s episode saying the order is an indictment of State Government’s move to protect corrupt officers.

“The state government was afraid of CBI probe and therefore had used all means to protect Yadav Singh. The government knew that the CBI probe will expose dirty nexus between politicians and officials,” BJP state president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai said in a statement issued here on Thursday.

The CBI probe order was given on a PIl of social activist Nutun Thakur, who is the wife of suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur.

He said that BJP had raised this issue time and again and had even staged a dharna outside Noida CEO’s office. Despite that State government had given a clean chit to the tainted official, he said.

“There must be some link between Yadav Singh and Samajwadi Party. Otherwise, what is the reason that first Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav suspends him and them posts him as Chief Engineer of Noida. This decision of the government shows that there is some link between this tainted officer and the ruling party,” he said.

He said that for CBI probe it is mandatory that CEO Noida Ramaraman should be removed and he is replaced by an honest officer.
