BJP holds a massive demonstration across the state

PNS, Biswajeet
Buoyant at its electoral success Bharatiya Janata Party held a massive demonstration across the state over prevailing power crisis alleging that people were being punished for not voting for Samajwadi Party.
“This is our direct allegation that Samajwadi Party Government is harassing the people post lok sabha results by imposing reckless load shedding across the state. Otherwise how can one justify that before May 12 the state was getting 14-16 hour electricity and now rural areas are getting power for less than 10 hours,” BJP state president laxmi Kant Bajpai said while addressing party workers outside Shakti Bhawan here on Thursday.
To buttress his point he even churned out figures to show as how power generation dropped between May 7 and May 17. In May 7 the generation in state-run power stations was 151.90 mu and it dropped to 133 mu in May 17 – a day after lok Sabha results were declared. Similarly, power purchased from Central units declined from 116.77 MU to 99 MU.
“This clearly shows that power generation and purchase declined after election results were declared. This is done with a design,” he said and challenged Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for an open debate on this issue. BJP chief declared that party will continue staging protest till the power situation improves in the state.Meanwhile, the party staged a statewide protest against power crisis. In Kanpur BJP workers presented hand fans and medicines to Kesco MD saying with people not getting sleep at night they are becoming BP patients. In Agra the BJP workers gave lantern to power officers.
