Beware of conspiracy by SP, Congress: Mayawati

PNS

Alleging that the Samajwadi Party- Congress pre-poll alliance in Uttar Pradesh was on behest of the BJP, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati cautioned the Muslims to be aware about the conspiracy and appealed to the minorities to support BSP so that the move of the communal forces could be prevented like it was done in Bihar. She also ridiculed the BJP president Amit Shah and other leaders that she had lost her ‘Noor’ (smile) after the demonetisation move of the centre.

“The people of the country will teach the BJP a lesson in the UP polls and presently their noor has finished after 90 per cent of the population are facing problem due to demonetisation,” she claimed. Addressing a press conference here on Monday afternoon Mayawati, who donned a different look with all white, said that the family feud in the SP besides their move to forge an alliance with Congress was only an effort to confuse the Muslims and divide their vote bank. “BJP always flourished when SP is in the government in UP and this Samajwadi Party government would be known for the Muzaffarnagar riots and their efforts to create communal tension in the state”, she asserted.

Stressing more on the possible alliance between the SP and Congress, she claimed that it will benefit the BJP most and there are also talks in the town about BJP forcing the SP to talk for alliance with Congress. ``The BJP was exerting pressure on SP chief and his family through Enforcement Directorate, IT department and CBI regarding disproportionate assets cases, and other weaknesses to join hands with Congress to divide Muslim votes and stop BSP from coming to power”, alleged Mayawati.

“SP and BJP could be termed as a friend, who always helped each other to gain their political arena,” she claimed. “Besides SP is now almost in two parts- one led by Akhilesh and another by his uncle Shivpal which will force a vertical split in the Yadav vote bank making both the group ending nothing in the race for the assembly polls,” she said while adding that only BSP has the capability to prevent the BJP from coming to power in the state.

“In almost all the 403 seats, BSP has around 24-25 per cent of its dalit vote bank which comes to around 50,000 to 60,000 voters in every assembly segment. If the muslim vote bank is added to it, then no one can defeat the BSP candidate,” she claimed while giving her winnable statistic.  Further claiming that the SP government had done not even 10 per cent of the work done by the previous BSP government for the muslims in the state, the former UP CM said that though BSP had made government in the state thrice with BJP but had never compromised with the party’s ideology and BJP had always become weak in the BSP regime. Giving further example, the BSP president said when BSP was in the power in 2009, BJP won just nine seats of the lok Sabha but when SP was in the government in 2014, BJP made a record by winning 73 seats. During her press meet, the BSP also distributed a UP government booklet, which was issued during the last regime between 2007-12, giving details of what they have done for the muslims in the state.

Meanwhile stung by BJP’s claim that the note ban has hit her hard, Mayawati  said it is the BJP leaders who have lost the glow on their faces as they

know that they will have to pay the price in upcoming UP Assembly polls for the hardships being faced by the people. “Do I look to have lost glow on my face... It is BJP leaders Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and their central ministers who have lost glow on their faces,” Mayawati told newspersons while reacting to Amit Shah’s recent comment that she lost her `Noor’ due to demonetisation.
