Welcoming Centre’s decision to constitute a judicial commission to probe ‘snoopgate’ issue, Union minister Beni Prasad Verma also took on his own Party led  United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government for taking no steps to ensure speedy conviction of accused who were involved in demolition of Babri Mosque, massacre in Godhra or killing of innocents persons in alleged `encounter’ in Gujrat. He demanded fast track courts to punish the guilty persons so they could not do more damage to the country.
“After the demolition of Babri mosque, 22 years have passed. Godhra took place 12 years ago but not a single accused in these cases has been punished. Fast track courts should be constituted to ensure punishment of those found guilty,” Verma said while also accusing Congress led UPA government for doing nothing in the last 10-years to ensure conviction of the guilty persons. ``I am a senior minister in UPA government but I had no hesitation to admit that our government did nothing to ensure conviction of the guilty”, he asserted.
The Congress leader further alleged that between 2002 and 2006 a number of cases of fake encounter took place in Gujarat and those responsible including Gujrat chief minister Narendra Modi or Amit Shah have not been punished. When asked that why he was raising the issue now, Beni said that he wanted to stop the guilty from using the communal card to divide the society just to come to power. ``I am seeing that those guilty of Babri demolition or massacre in Gujrat are now using communal frenzy just to come to Power so I wanted that speedy trial should be made to stop them for dividing the society on caste or religion line”, Beni added. He also named Modi and Amit Shah as well as lal Krishna Advani, saying that everyone knew that how they fuel communal hatred just to make political gain out of it.
Calling Narendra Modi a `Joker’, Union Minister said that BJP’s PM candidate had nothing to tell on his Party’s agenda on development or progress of the country hence he just used to make funny postures to attract the crowd and gain cheap popularity just by attacking the members of Gandhi’s family. ``There is no comparison between Modi and Gandhi family as one was involved in dividing the community, massacre of innocent people and using every cheap tactics to come to power while the other family had not just made sacrifices of their lives for this country but Sonia Gandhi refused to become PM and instead gave the chair to Manmohan Singh”, Beni said that while trying to save the Gandhi family from attack by BJP’s PM candidate.
On Election Commission, which has censured him for his “insulting” remarks against Narendra Modi,  Verma said the EC is the best autonomous body in the world and that he would try to restraint to attack leaders of Opposition Parties in  his speeches. “The EC has given me notice so I will practice restraint. When opposition leaders make false statements against our leaders, I get swayed away by emotions,” he asserted saying that he was forced to react every time as all other Congress leaders remained quite even when leaders of Opposition Parties freely attacked even on Gandhi family.
Meanwhile another FIR has been registered against Beni Prasad Verma for violating Model Code of Conduct by making “objectionable” remarks on Narendra Modi. “The FIR was registered against Verma at Chhapia police station this morning for violating Model Code of Conduct by making objectionable remarks against Modi,” District Magistrate of Gonda, Vikas Gothalwal confirmed. “A person, who discriminates between Hindu and Muslim in this country and create hatred between them, is not a human being, but a monster,” the Congress leader had said addressing an election rally in Maskanwa area on Friday t night. “Modi must tell whether he is a human being or not. On the massacre of the people in Gujarat you (Modi) say that it’s a reaction. You tease Muslims by stating that even if a puppy comes under you vehicle you feel sad,” he said.
The EC had two days back censured Beni for “insulting” remarks against Modi and warned that further violation could result in banning his campaign activity.    Beni said a person like Modi is an “enemy” of the country and democracy.    “If such a person comes to power then self respect of 85 per cent downtrodden people of the country will end and dominance of handful persons will prevail in the society,” he alleged. On April 8, another FIR was registered against Beni in Balrampur for calling BJP prime ministerial candidate the “biggest goonda” of RSS and party’s National President Rajnath Singh his “slave”.
